Engineering Manager - Security Standards and Hardening

About the role

This senior engineering leadership position is based in the United Arab Emirates and focuses on elevating security standards across a widely used open‑source technology ecosystem. You will guide a multidisciplinary team to design, implement, and validate hardening practices for operating systems, cloud and edge platforms, and modern software stacks.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, mentor and grow a team of engineers ranging from graduate to senior level.
• Define and monitor team health indicators while fostering a collaborative, high‑performance culture.
• Implement disciplined engineering processes and promote best practices in secure software development.
• Represent the team with internal stakeholders, customers, industry partners and the open‑source community.
• Plan and track progress against engineering goals, projects and deliverables.
• Support products and customers in meeting rigorous security frameworks such as FIPS, CIS, STIG, FedRAMP and the Cyber Resilience Act.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading security engineering or related technical teams.
• Deep technical knowledge of system hardening, cryptographic modules and compliance‑as‑code practices.
• Strong judgment in applying security standards to diverse platforms (OS, cloud, edge).
• Excellent communication skills for influencing internal and external partners.
• Ability to work in an Agile software development environment.
