Engineering Technician – Abu Dhabi

About the role

The Engineering Technician will support the hotel’s facilities team by responding to guest repair requests, performing preventive maintenance, and ensuring all building systems operate safely and efficiently.

Key responsibilities

• Attend to guest repair requests and communicate resolutions.
• Carry out preventive maintenance on kitchen, mechanical room, and other equipment, including cleaning and lubrication.
• Visually inspect tools, equipment and machines; identify and operate shut‑off valves and utility controls.
• Maintain maintenance inventory, requisition parts and supplies as needed.
• Document daily activities and hand over information to subsequent shifts.
• Perform surface preparation, painting, minor drywall and wood‑trim repairs.
• Replace light bulbs, A/C filters, and program TVs.
• Test, troubleshoot and repair electrical, plumbing, HVAC, pneumatic/electronic, and kitchen equipment.
• Execute interior and exterior landscaping repairs, including sprinkler systems.
• Apply Lockout/Tagout procedures before any maintenance work.
• Follow all safety, security and company policies.

Required profile

• Basic knowledge or ability to acquire knowledge in air‑conditioning, refrigeration, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, pneumatic/electronic systems, carpentry, and general building maintenance.
• Ability to lift, carry, push or pull objects up to 50 lb without assistance.
• Professional appearance, clear communication skills and respect for guest privacy.
