Engineering Workpackage Manager

About the role

The Engineering Workpackage Manager will lead the end‑to‑end engineering lifecycle for Thales' radio communication systems in Abu Dhabi. You will coordinate multidisciplinary teams, manage technical delivery and ensure that solutions meet customer expectations and Thales' quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, execute and monitor the full project engineering lifecycle, including development activities, risk management and schedule control.
• Lead and mentor a diverse engineering team covering solution architecture, system engineering, software development and integration (IVVQ).
• Structure and master the delivery process, handling technical debt and its impact on planning.
• Manage co‑contracting and subcontracting activities, ensuring seamless collaboration across all stakeholders.
• Provide engineering solutions that align with customer needs and act as the quality guarantor for delivered products.
• Contribute to future Thales product development and support complex, disruptive projects.
• Oversee financial, planning and reporting aspects, anticipating challenges and identifying opportunities.

Required profile

• Significant experience in radio communication technologies and related system infrastructure.
• Proven track record of managing engineering teams and large‑scale technical deliveries.
• Strong understanding of project financials, planning and reporting.
• Ability to work closely with customers and internal stakeholders to ensure solution quality.
