Faculty - Engineering (Mechanical / Mechatronics)

About the role

The Faculty member will deliver effective instruction in mechanical and mechatronics engineering to second‑language learners, fostering a student‑centric environment that respects cultural diversity. The role also involves active participation in academic, research, and community activities.

Key responsibilities

• Contribute to HCT’s system‑wide strategy and assist in developing faculty and division policies.
• Teach mechanical and mechatronics courses using practical, applied approaches and educational technology.
• Assess student learning through tests, projects, assignments and provide continuous feedback.
• Advise and mentor students, including support during internships and at‑risk action plans.
• Conduct applied research aligned with national innovation agenda and present findings at conferences.
• Participate in faculty, program and system‑wide committees and serve as sponsor or adviser to student groups.
• Maintain teaching facilities, prepare electronic course assessment files and contribute to curriculum revision.
• Coach and mentor junior staff and support recruitment and development of UAE nationals.

Required profile

• Ph.D. in a relevant discipline, or a Master’s degree with professional certification and at least 5 years of combined teaching and industry experience; a Bachelor’s with extensive industry experience may also be considered.
• Minimum three years of teaching experience in the relevant discipline.
• Relevant industry experience (preferred) and experience developing curricula that meet accreditation and international standards.
• Experience integrating educational technology into instructional strategies.
