Field Service Manager – Electrical Power Testing

About the role

Doble Engineering is looking for an experienced Field Service Manager to lead and execute field‑testing projects for the electric power sector, covering utilities, generation plants and industrial facilities. The role combines hands‑on testing, technical training, and coordination of resources to deliver high‑quality condition‑assessment reports.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise a team of 4‑5 field engineers and assign tasks for revenue‑bearing and internal projects.
• Provide technical training and oversight on EMI, PD, acoustic monitoring/location, and off‑line electrical testing.
• Perform field testing on generators, motors, transformers, circuit breakers, cables and related equipment.
• Act as the technical point of contact for customers and sales during project feasibility and scoping.
• Collaborate with Solutions on EMI test‑equipment development (Portland/Project Spark).
• Present technical and promotional material internally and externally, including seminars in English and Spanish.
• Represent Doble in industry forums and serve as secretary/assistant secretary for client conference committees.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (Master’s preferred).
• Minimum 3 years EMI testing of rotating machines.
• Minimum 5 years PD testing of transformers.
• At least 2 years experience reviewing technical client reports (QA).
• At least 2 years experience managing personnel and equipment logistics for field services.
• Participation in technical industry committees for at least 2 years.
