Financial Accountant

About the role

Abu Dhabi Aviation is seeking a detail‑oriented Financial Accountant to join its Finance team in Abu Dhabi, UAE. The role will manage a wide range of accounting and financial activities, ensuring accurate financial reporting, regulatory compliance, and effective support for business operations and management decision‑making.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare, review and analyse accounting records and financial statements for accuracy and compliance with IFRS and company policies.
• Perform general accounting tasks including journal entries, bookkeeping, reconciliations and transactional reviews.
• Produce financial reports such as cash position, collections, accounts receivable/payable, ESG‑related and other management reports.
• Maintain the fixed assets register, calculate monthly depreciation and record related entries.
• Prepare accruals and support forecasting and budgeting activities.
• Assist external auditors by preparing schedules, reconciliations and supporting documentation.
• Process, approve and pay vendor invoices, including VAT reclaim and VAT return preparation.
• Maintain accurate financial records, supporting schedules and working papers.
• Review employee‑related payments and related accounting entries.
• Support intercompany transactions, receivables, payables and Group reporting requirements.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Commerce.
• 3–5 years of experience in financial accounting, reporting and general accounting.
• Professional accounting qualification (ACCA, CPA, CMA or CIMA) is an advantage.
• Strong knowledge of financial reporting, accounts payable, accounts receivable and core accounting procedures under IFRS.
• Analytical mindset with strong problem‑solving and variance analysis skills.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and MS Office applications.
• Experience with ERP systems such as SAP or Oracle.
• Solid understanding of IFRS accounting standards.
