Financial Auditor – Internal Audit & Compliance

About the role

The Financial Auditor will conduct operational, compliance and financial audits of intermediate complexity within the University, providing advisory services to improve internal controls and support strategic objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and execute the annual internal audit program based on risk assessments, KPIs and strategic goals.
• Perform operational audits to evaluate processes, resource usage and internal controls across all divisions.
• Prepare and present audit reports with findings and recommendations, and follow‑up to ensure corrective actions are implemented.
• Review and assess university policies, procedures and financial impacts for compliance with laws and regulations.
• Identify fraud risks, resource misuse and inefficiencies, proposing improvements to enhance profitability and effectiveness.
• Analyze business proposals and cost‑pricing structures to support decision‑making.
• Coordinate with external and government auditors, ensuring coverage and avoiding duplication of effort.
• Audit financial transactions, payments, bank transfers, payroll and asset management to verify accuracy and compliance.

Required profile

• University degree in Accounting, Finance, Auditing or a related field.
• Proven experience in internal or financial auditing, preferably within an educational institution.
• Strong understanding of audit standards, risk assessment methodologies and regulatory requirements.
• Excellent analytical and report‑writing abilities.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate with multiple departments.
