Financial Controller

About the role

The Financial Controller will lead the finance function for Grand Mercure Dubai City, a 5‑star Accor hotel in Dubai. This role is responsible for preparing accurate financial statements, budgeting, forecasting and ensuring compliance with UAE regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee the preparation and analysis of comprehensive financial statements, including departmental P&L and monthly, quarterly, and annual reports.
• Manage financial forecasting and budgeting processes aligned with hotel operations, using occupancy, ADR and RevPAR metrics.
• Monitor cash flow, working capital and financial performance across all revenue and cost centres, identifying cost‑optimization opportunities.
• Ensure full compliance with UAE tax regulations, VAT requirements, labour law provisions and auditing standards.
• Provide strategic financial insights and recommendations to senior management and department heads.
• Supervise and develop the finance team, establish internal controls and foster a culture of financial accountability.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or a related field.
• Professional accounting qualification such as ACCA, CPA or CMA is an advantage.
• Minimum 5–7 years experience in a Financial Controller or senior finance management role within a hotel.
• Strong knowledge of hotel accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting and cost control.
• Good understanding of UAE financial regulations, VAT, tax requirements and accounting standards.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with the ability to provide actionable insights.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with senior management.
• Leadership and team‑management abilities to develop and motivate the finance team.
