Financial Planning & Analysis Economist

About the role

The Financial Planning & Analysis Economist will support the finance team in preparing monthly financial statements, conducting detailed profit and loss and balance sheet analysis, and ensuring compliance with IFRS and local regulations. The role involves close interaction with internal teams, auditors, lenders, and shareholders.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and assist in the preparation of monthly financial reports in line with IFRS and local regulations.
• Coordinate with the Shared Service Centre for month‑end closing and cash‑flow statement preparation.
• Conduct detailed analysis of profit & loss and balance‑sheet accounts and maintain cost trackers.
• Support the Financial Controller with chart‑of‑accounts reconciliations and policy updates.
• Maintain compliance with financing agreements, prepare treasury forecasts, and monitor covenant compliance.
• Respond to inquiries from CFO, shareholders, lenders, and other managers regarding financial results.
• Assist in audit processes, coordinate with external auditors, and manage statutory accounts.
• Monitor project and vendor invoices, ensure payments align with contracts, and present actual vs. budget reports.
• Participate in long‑term planning (LTP) and budgeting exercises as required.

Required profile

• Degree in Economics, Finance, Accounting or a related field.
• Proven experience in financial planning, analysis, and reporting.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS and local financial regulations.
• Ability to work with cross‑functional teams and external stakeholders.
• Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills.
