Finishing Machine Operator

About the role

The Finishing Machine Operator is responsible for setting up, configuring, and running a range of finishing equipment to meet production specifications while ensuring high quality output.

Key responsibilities

• Set up and operate various finishing machines including Kolbus perfect binders, Muller Martini saddle stitchers, folding machines, sewing, Wholemberg gathering machines, and cutting machines.
• Configure automatic die‑cutting, foiling, embossing, Brausee folder gluer and Champion bag‑fabrication machines according to job specifications and material type.
• Monitor output for binding strength, stitching accuracy, fold precision and cutting alignment.
• Conduct visual and manual quality checks, perform routine cleaning and follow preventive‑maintenance schedules.
• Identify and escalate mechanical issues or misfeeds to the foreman or maintenance team.

Required skills

• Operation of Kolbus perfect binders and Muller Martini saddle stitchers.
• Operation of Wholemberg gathering and cutting machines.
• Configuration of automatic die‑cutting, foiling, embossing, Brausee folder gluer and Champion bag‑fabrication equipment.
• Quality inspection and monitoring of binding strength, stitching accuracy, fold precision and cutting alignment.
• Routine cleaning and preventive‑maintenance procedures.
