Fire Fighting Trainer

About the role

The Fire Fighting Trainer is responsible for delivering comprehensive training on firefighting techniques, safety procedures, and emergency response. The role enhances the preparedness and competence of firefighters, industrial workers, office staff, and other personnel involved in fire safety.

Key responsibilities

• Design and maintain a structured curriculum covering fire safety, fire behavior, prevention, and equipment use.
• Create lesson plans, presentations, handouts, and instructional videos tailored to diverse learning styles.
• Conduct theoretical sessions on fire triangles, classifications, causes, and hazards.
• Provide hands‑on training with extinguishers, hoses, nozzles, fire blankets, and breathing apparatus.
• Organise live fire drills and mock emergency scenarios to develop response strategies and teamwork.
• Teach evacuation procedures, stress management, and decision‑making under pressure.
• Ensure compliance with local fire codes, occupational safety standards, and NFPA regulations.
• Assess participants’ skills using checklists and benchmarks.

Required profile

• Strong knowledge of fire behavior, classification, and prevention measures.
• Experience delivering practical and theoretical fire safety training.
• Ability to adapt training modules for different audiences and environments.
• Physical fitness to demonstrate and supervise demanding firefighting tasks.

Required skills

• Operation of fire extinguishers, hoses, nozzles, fire blankets, and breathing apparatus.
• Understanding of NFPA standards and local fire codes.
• Conducting live fire drills and emergency simulations.
• Developing fire safety plans and risk assessments.
