Fire Training Officer

About the role

The Fire Training Officer is responsible for overseeing fire training activities across the island facilities and responding to emergency incidents as incident commander. This role ensures that fire service personnel and auxiliary teams are fully trained and prepared for fire, chemical, and rescue situations.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise the Island Fire Training Centre under the Lead Fire Training Officer.
• Act as incident commander during emergencies until relieved by a senior officer.
• Lead and supervise firefighters in fire fighting, oil/chemical spills, gas release control, rescue and medical emergencies.
• Develop and deliver training aids and courses for fire service personnel, UAE nationals, ADNOC offshore facilities and marine vessels.
• Design and conduct simulated emergency response exercises for auxiliary fire teams and offshore units.
• Provide instruction on fire, emergency response, chemical incident, breathing apparatus and life support equipment.
• Inspect ADNOC offshore facilities for compliance with HSE regulations, fire codes and standards; compile related reports.
• Oversee testing and maintenance of major fire fighting vehicles, marine firefighting tugs and fire main components.
• Review and develop departmental emergency procedures, maintenance programs, technical instructions and training manuals.
• Formulate and implement safe chemical disposal methods and handle hazardous substances.
