Firmware Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a Firmware Engineer to develop and maintain FPGA firmware for advanced radar systems. The role focuses on designing high‑performance digital transceiver modules and integrating them with embedded microcontrollers to enable real‑time radar signal processing.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement FPGA firmware for radar transmit/receive processing chains.
• Develop RTL using VHDL, Verilog or SystemVerilog for high‑speed, real‑time applications.
• Build and integrate Digital Transceiver Modules (DTM) for TX/RX path control, up/down conversion, synchronization and data handling.
• Interface FPGA with ADC/DAC, RF transceivers, mixers and timing circuits.
• Create logic for data framing, buffering, timing, trigger generation, PRI/PRF control, pulse shaping and waveform sequencing.
• Integrate FPGA with microcontrollers (e.g., STM32, ARM Cortex) for configuration, telemetry and health monitoring.
• Implement communication interfaces such as SPI, UART, I2C, JESD204B/C, LVDS and Ethernet.
• Perform simulation, verification, timing closure and hardware debugging while collaborating with RF, DSP and software teams.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of experience in firmware/embedded systems or FPGA development for military/defense applications.
• Strong knowledge of radar digital architecture and signal flow.
• Proven experience with Xilinx or Intel/Altera FPGA platforms.

Required skills

• VHDL, Verilog, SystemVerilog.
• Digital Transceiver Modules (DTM) design and implementation.
• High‑speed serial interfaces (SPI, UART, I2C, JESD204B/C, LVDS, Ethernet).
• Clock domain crossing, reset synchronization and timing analysis.
• ADC/DAC data capture and RF control.
• Integration with microcontrollers (STM32, ARM Cortex).
