Fit-Out Civil Engineer

About the role

The Fit-Out Civil Engineer will lead the interior transformation of commercial, residential and hospitality projects, ensuring premium finishes such as tiles, marble, stonework, bespoke joinery, gypsum ceilings, glass partitions and decorative metalwork meet the highest quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee daily site operations for joinery, marble, cladding, tiling, glazing and ceiling installations, targeting a 90% first‑time consultant inspection pass rate.
• Track all fit‑out milestones, specialized installations and authority inspections to guarantee handover within the baseline schedule.
• Control material procurement, storage and handling to keep waste below 5% and rework costs under 2% of the budget.
• Review shop drawings, cutting lists and reflected ceiling plans to prevent on‑site conflicts.
• Coordinate specialised sub‑contractors, monitor performance against quality benchmarks and conduct rigorous snagging before client handover.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
• 4–8 years of interior fit‑out experience in the UAE, preferably in luxury hospitality or high‑end residential sectors.
• Membership with the Society of Engineers (SOE) UAE.

Required skills

• Proficiency in AutoCAD for drawing verification.
• Experience with MS Project or Primavera P6 for schedule management.
• Strong knowledge of wood, stone, tile fixing methods, fire‑rated doors, gypsum systems, smart glass and architectural metal finishes.
