Food Safety Specialist

About the role

We are seeking a Food Safety Specialist to join our team at Emirates Flight Catering in Dubai. The role involves ensuring the highest standards of food safety across our operations, from internal inspections to supplier audits.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out spot verification through internal inspections on the shop floor and communicate findings via shift reports.
• Monitor food safety performance of stakeholders by reviewing internal audits and customer complaints, preparing trend analysis and cascading results.
• Conduct on‑site audits of local food suppliers and e‑audits of overseas suppliers according to schedule.
• Investigate critical food‑safety‑related customer complaints and supplier issues.
• Perform microbiological analysis as assigned and ensure ISO 17025 laboratory certification is maintained.
• Supervise and guide Food Safety Supervisors and Assistants on safety matters.
• Verify that CCPs, OPRPs and PRPs are monitored according to the hazard control plan.
• Participate in HACCP reviews for new products, process changes and periodic assessments.
• Assist in food‑safety audits conducted by airline and commercial customers to ensure compliance.
• Support the Food Safety Manager in daily operations and continuous improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Microbiology, Food Technology or an equivalent field (mandatory).
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a food‑safety role, preferably within catering or food manufacturing.

Required skills

• Microbiological analysis and laboratory practices (ISO 17025 compliance).
• HACCP implementation and hazard control planning.
• Food‑safety auditing and inspection, including internal, supplier and e‑audit procedures.
