Forward Deployed Engineer – META

About the role

GitLab is seeking a Staff Forward Deployed Engineer (META) to work directly with strategic customers in the EMEA region from our Dubai office. In this field‑situated product engineering role you will combine deep technical expertise with customer‑focused problem solving to accelerate AI adoption and remove adoption blockers.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with strategic customers to diagnose and resolve high‑impact product adoption challenges.
• Contribute production‑quality code, fixes and new features to the GitLab platform.
• Translate customer insights into repeatable patterns and best‑practice guidance for both GitLab and its users.
• Partner with Product, Engineering, SRE, Solutions Architecture, Customer Success and Professional Services teams to deliver integrated solutions.
• Drive AI‑driven productivity improvements within customer environments and internal workflows.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a senior‑level software engineer with a track record of shipping high‑quality code.
• Strong ability to work in ambiguous, fast‑paced environments and manage complex, cross‑functional projects.
• Excellent communication skills to engage with customers and internal stakeholders.

Required skills

• Deep knowledge of GitLab’s DevSecOps platform.
• Experience with AI/ML tooling and integration.
• Proficiency in modern software development practices and tools.
