Ground Support Safety Operator

About the role

The Ground Support Safety Operator ensures safe on‑road operations during autonomous vehicle testing and regular service runs. Working from a dedicated safety vehicle, you will protect pedestrians, other road users and the autonomous fleet while following predefined routes.

Key responsibilities

• Drive safety/support vehicles along designated operational routes.
• Provide ground‑level safety support during autonomous vehicle operations.
• Monitor road conditions, pedestrians, surrounding vehicles and potential hazards.
• Assist with hardware and software update testing activities.
• Support autonomous vehicle road testing, routine road‑running, and special experience or VIP sessions.
• Communicate hazards or operational issues to relevant teams promptly.
• Respond appropriately to changing traffic and road conditions.
• Maintain safe driving standards and comply with all operational procedures.

Required profile

• Valid UAE driving licence.
• Strong driving record and solid knowledge of road safety practices.
• Previous experience in professional driving, fleet operations, transportation, automotive testing or similar fields (preferred).
• Strong situational awareness and good communication skills.
• Ability to follow designated routes and operational procedures accurately.
