Group Operations & Projects Audit Director

About the role

The Group Operations & Projects Audit Director will lead internal audit engagements across the holding group's operational, construction, and commercial activities. Based in Dubai, the role involves frequent travel to Saudi Arabia and requires close interaction with senior stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute risk‑based audit plans covering operations, construction projects, contract management and commercial processes.
• Plan, scope, conduct, and report end‑to‑end audits, ensuring compliance with the IIA International Professional Practices Framework.
• Assess internal controls, risk management, and governance across operational and commercial functions.
• Provide assurance on project execution, cost control, procurement, subcontracting and contractual compliance.
• Identify key risks such as cost overruns, claims leakage and non‑compliance, and deliver actionable recommendations.
• Monitor remediation of audit findings and support senior management with advisory insights.
• Lead, mentor and develop the audit team, driving continuous improvement of methodologies and data‑driven audit tools.
• Assist the Head of Internal Audit in preparing board‑level reports for the Audit & Compliance Committee.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Engineering or a related field.
• Professional certification (CIA, CPA, ACA or equivalent) and PMP certification.
• Minimum 10 years of internal audit experience, preferably in construction or engineering.
• Deep knowledge of governance, risk and control frameworks, especially the IIA IPPF.
• Strong influencing and communication skills with senior executives.
• Fluent Arabic speaker.
