Head Coach, Velodrome

About the role

The Head Coach, Velodrome will lead the coaching workforce for cycling and in‑field sports at the Velodrome Abu Dhabi. Reporting to the Sports Manager, you will be the primary technical authority for cycling, shaping programme design, delivery and coach development across the venue.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, mentor and manage the full coaching team for cycling and related in‑field sports.
• Maintain and audit coaching standards, safety protocols and participant experience.
• Develop and oversee structured coach development pathways, CPD programmes and credentialling frameworks.
• Design course structures, session plans and coaching methodologies aligned with the Sports Manager’s programme architecture.
• Deliver advanced and signature cycling sessions, including track cycling programmes.
• Provide strategic advice on workforce planning, programme evolution and venue performance.
• Act as operational lead for safeguarding and uphold professional ethics within all sport programmes.

Required profile

• Extensive senior‑level coaching experience in cycling, preferably with track cycling expertise.
• Proven leadership in managing and developing coaching teams.
• Strong understanding of safety, safeguarding and credentialling standards in sport.
• Ability to design progressive skill pathways and high‑quality programme content.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
