Head Of Engineering

About the role

The Head of Engineering will establish and lead the engineering function for the System Integration Division, turning it into a core competitive advantage. Reporting to senior management, you will provide strategic and technical direction across design, protection, automation, panel engineering and system architecture to deliver reliable, cost‑effective and compliant solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Define and implement the division’s engineering strategy, design philosophy and technical governance framework.
• Set company standards for drawings, SLDs, wiring diagrams, design templates and BOM structures.
• Act as final technical approval authority for all engineering deliverables.
• Lead high‑level technical engagement with clients, consultants, utilities and OEM partners.
• Develop and execute a technology roadmap covering substation automation, IEC 61850, smart MCCs and digitalisation initiatives.
• Provide technical leadership during bids, tenders and proposal stages, ensuring compliance with specifications and standards.
• Oversee project engineering to guarantee on‑time, on‑budget delivery with zero major deviations.
• Drive root‑cause analysis and corrective actions for technical failures or quality issues.
• Build high‑performing engineering teams and strengthen supplier/OEM partnerships.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in electrical engineering design and system integration, preferably in the power/substation sector.
• Proven track record of leading large engineering teams and managing complex projects.
• Strong understanding of profitability, margin targets and technical risk management.
• Excellent stakeholder management skills with clients, consultants and OEMs.
