About the role

We are seeking an experienced Head of English Content to lead the English editorial team of a leading UAE-based economy news channel, overseeing digital publishing, editorial planning and cross-team collaboration.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage the English editorial team, including editors, reporters, translators and content creators.
• Plan daily English news coverage, assign tasks and oversee special reports and investigations.
• Edit, proofread and ensure compliance with stylebooks, legal and ethical standards.
• Review Arabic-to-English translations for accuracy and terminology.
• Select SEO-friendly headlines and appropriate imagery for digital content.
• Coordinate with Arabic, social media, multimedia and video teams for content localisation and visual assets.
• Provide feedback, develop editors and manage freelance English contributors.

Required profile

• Senior-level editorial or newsroom experience in digital media, publishing or news organisations.
• Proven track record leading English editorial teams and managing newsroom workflows.
• Strong English writing, editing and proofreading abilities.
• Experience with digital journalism, breaking news and editorial planning.
• Understanding of editorial ethics, legal considerations and content quality standards.
• Bachelor’s degree in journalism, mass communication, English or a related field.
