Head of Systems Engineering & MBSE

About the role

We are building the founding engineering team for a clean‑sheet aerospace platform and sovereign mission system. As Head of Systems Engineering & MBSE you will define the engineering foundation from concept through certification.

Key responsibilities

• Own and evolve the systems engineering framework across the entire programme.
• Lead a high‑calibre team of Systems Architects, MBSE Engineers, Requirements Engineers and Systems Engineers.
• Establish the MBSE capability from the ground up, including toolchain, architecture framework and traceability approach.
• Stand up the MBSE toolchain, create initial architecture models and the first requirements baseline.
• Define the compliance and verification strategy that supports the programme from concept to certification.
• Partner with Chief Engineers on architecture decisions, trade studies and programme integration.

Required profile

• Extensive systems engineering experience on certified aerospace programmes.
• Significant hands‑on MBSE and SysML modelling experience.
• Proven track record managing complex requirements and end‑to‑end traceability with modern tools.
• Experience applying ARP4754B within a real certification programme.
• Ability to build and lead high‑performing engineering teams while staying technically involved.
• Ideally, experience establishing an MBSE capability from scratch.
