Highways Design Manager – Dubai

About the role

The Highways Design Manager will act as the technical authority for highway design projects in Dubai, ensuring designs meet local standards and client expectations. Reporting to senior management, the role combines leadership of a large engineering team with hands‑on technical guidance.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Project Manager in planning resources and developing project schedules.
• Provide technical supervision across preliminary study, design, final design and tender stages.
• Monitor team performance, ensuring adherence to schedule, cost, standards and regulatory approvals.
• Lead design reviews, value‑engineering workshops and coordination meetings.
• Oversee the preparation and expediting of design packages, ensuring compliance with program requirements.
• Promote technical excellence, quality improvement processes and digital engineering workflows.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in highway design, familiar with Middle‑East and Dubai standards.
• Proven ability to manage and develop large groups of highway engineers.
• Strong communication skills to interface with senior managers, clients and multidisciplinary teams.
• Capability to present complex technical matters in client meetings and workshops.

Required skills

• In‑depth knowledge of highway design standards and drafting software.
• Experience with advanced 3D highway design techniques.
• Proficiency in digital engineering workflows and coordination tools.
