Homeroom Teacher – Cycle 1 (Ages 5‑8)

About the role

International Community Schools is seeking a qualified Homeroom Teacher for Cycle 1, responsible for delivering the curriculum to children aged 5‑8 in Abu Dhabi. The role involves creating a supportive learning environment and collaborating with colleagues to ensure student progress.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver lessons in line with the British National Curriculum (EYFS/Key Stage 1), American Common Core or IB PYP.
• Assess and monitor student achievement, using data to inform instruction.
• Manage classroom behaviour and promote positive learning attitudes.
• Communicate regularly with parents and contribute to school community activities.
• Integrate educational technology into daily teaching.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Education or relevant subject plus a recognized teaching licence.
• 2‑3 years of full‑time primary teaching experience, preferably in an international school.
• Experience with early childhood or primary education (Key Stage 1/Grades 1‑2).
• Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
• Ability to adapt teaching to diverse learners, including EAL students.

Required skills

• Proficiency with interactive whiteboards.
• Experience using G Suite for Education or Microsoft Office 365.
• Familiarity with online learning platforms and student information systems.
