Homeroom Teacher

About the role

The Homeroom Teacher will join Nibras’s expanding team to create a safe, stimulating and inclusive learning environment for all pupils. You will be responsible for delivering high‑quality lessons that inspire progress, encourage curiosity and support each child’s personal development.

Key responsibilities

• Set high expectations and motivate pupils of diverse backgrounds, abilities and dispositions.
• Establish a safe, respectful classroom atmosphere and supervise pupils at all times.
• Plan, deliver and reflect on well‑structured lessons that build on pupils’ prior knowledge.
• Monitor and assess pupils’ attainment, progress and outcomes, providing feedback and guidance.
• Differentiate instruction to meet the strengths and needs of every learner.
• Contribute to the design and continuous improvement of the curriculum within your subject area(s).
• Promote high standards of literacy, articulacy and the correct use of Standard English.
• If teaching early reading, apply systematic synthetic phonics; if teaching early mathematics, use appropriate teaching strategies.

• Qualified and passionate teacher with a commitment to child safety and wellbeing.
• Ability to inspire, motivate and challenge pupils while modelling positive attitudes and behaviour.
• Reflective practitioner who continuously evaluates the effectiveness of lessons.
• Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset.

Required skills

• Sound knowledge of the relevant subject(s) and national curriculum.
• Understanding of systematic synthetic phonics for early reading.
• Familiarity with effective early mathematics teaching strategies.
• Ability to differentiate instruction and adapt teaching to diverse learner needs.
• Proficiency in promoting literacy, articulacy and Standard English.
