Hostess – Guest Service at Akira Back

About the role

The Hostess will be the first point of contact for guests at Akira Back, ensuring a warm welcome and smooth seating experience. This role supports the dining team by maintaining a clean and organized front‑of‑house environment.

Key responsibilities

• Greet guests, determine party size and escort them to a clean, available table.
• Pull out chairs, place current menus, napkins, silverware and any other standard place‑setting items.
• Arrange tables and chairs for groups with special needs and monitor dining room for seating availability and guest safety.
• Maintain cleanliness of work areas throughout the shift, following clean‑as‑you‑go procedures.
• Check menus for cleanliness, currency and condition.
• Follow all company, safety and security policies; report accidents or unsafe conditions.
• Maintain a professional uniform and personal appearance.
• Answer telephone calls using proper etiquette and assist guests with any inquiries.
• Support team members to achieve common goals and adhere to quality standards.
• Stand, walk or sit for extended periods and lift objects up to 10 lb without assistance.

Required profile

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
• No prior related work experience required.
• No supervisory experience required.
• No specific license or certification required.
