HSE Engineer

About the role

GCG Engineering Services, part of the Ghobash Group, provides engineering solutions for the oil & gas, water, power and industrial sectors across the GCC. The HSE Engineer will ensure compliance with health, safety and environmental policies, lead the site HSE team and act as the primary interface for safety matters on ADNOC projects.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the on‑site HSE team, conduct risk assessments for electrical and instrumentation activities and develop control measures.
• Monitor compliance with local, state and federal HSE regulations, company policies and international standards.
• Investigate incidents, prepare corrective actions and conduct toolbox talks focused on electrical and instrumentation safety.
• Develop and deliver training programmes, emergency response plans and conduct regular drills.
• Track safety KPIs, prepare performance reports and support project HSE audits and inspections.
• Guide HSE staff, ensure implementation of the HSE manual, and supervise the execution of safety programmes.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field with HSE certification (NEBOSH IGC required).
• 7‑9 years of HSE experience in the oil & gas industry, preferably on ADNOC projects.
• Strong communication, attention to detail and ability to work on‑site at various locations.
• Additional certifications such as IOSH Managing Safely, OSHA, First Aid or Fire Safety are advantageous.
