HSE Officer for School Environment

About the role

WISE Indian Private School in Umm Al Quwain is looking for a qualified HSE Officer to ensure a safe and healthy learning environment. The role involves managing health, safety and environmental compliance within the school and coordinating with relevant authorities.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain a safe environment for students, staff, visitors and facilities.
• Prepare and update risk assessments and emergency response plans.
• Deliver HSE awareness sessions and safety training for staff.
• Ensure proper signage, fire safety equipment and emergency arrangements.
• Conduct fire drills, evacuation exercises and safety awareness programmes.
• Maintain HSE records, inspection reports, incident reports and compliance documentation.
• Coordinate with Civil Defence, municipality, maintenance teams and other authorities as required.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science or related field.
• NEBOSH qualification (mandatory).
• 2‑3 years of HSE experience, preferably in an educational setting.
• Strong knowledge of UAE health and safety regulations, fire safety and emergency procedures.
• Ability to work effectively with students, teachers, administrative staff and maintenance teams.
• Immediate availability or short notice period preferred.
