HSE Officer – Health, Safety & Environment

About the role

The HSE Officer will lead health, safety and environmental initiatives for on‑site projects supporting ADNOC and other Tier 1 EPC contractors. You will ensure compliance with company policies, local regulations and international standards while fostering a proactive safety culture.

Key responsibilities

• Implement, monitor and enforce HSE policies, procedures and standards in line with regulatory requirements.
• Conduct regular site inspections, audits and risk assessments to identify hazards and verify compliance.
• Investigate incidents, near‑misses and accidents, prepare detailed reports and recommend corrective actions.
• Deliver HSE training, safety inductions, toolbox talks and awareness programmes for employees and contractors.
• Monitor environmental compliance, including waste management, emissions control and spill prevention.
• Maintain accurate HSE records, inspection reports, incident logs and compliance documentation.
• Liaise with regulatory authorities during inspections and audits, ensuring timely reporting.
• Support emergency response planning, participate in drills and coordinate with project managers to embed safety into all operations.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in a relevant discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of HSE experience in the oil & gas industry.
• NEBOSH certification (mandatory) and strong knowledge of OSHA, ISO 45001 and local HSE regulations.
• Proven ability to conduct risk assessments, audits and incident investigations.
• Willingness to work on‑site at various ADNOC project locations in Abu Dhabi and to work shifts as required.
