Indirect Tax Manager

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Indirect Tax Manager to lead Etihad’s global indirect tax function. The role involves providing tax planning, advisory, compliance and audit support across Etihad Airways and its group companies.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor global tax developments and ensure compliance with changing regulations.
• Advise business units on indirect tax implications of contracts, operations and commercial activities.
• Manage UAE VAT and other tax compliance obligations, including calculations, filings, payments and documentation.
• Lead tax audits, reviews, disputes, exemptions and risk matters worldwide.
• Maintain and improve tax policies, internal controls, governance records and reporting processes.
• Support tax transformation projects such as new taxes, technology implementation, ERP and e‑invoicing.
• Provide tax briefings, training and stakeholder support while managing consultants, budgets and procurement.

Required profile

• Recognised accounting or tax qualification with 7–12 years of tax advisory and compliance experience.
• Strong hands‑on experience in international indirect tax, including return preparation, review and submission.
• Proven ability to provide practical tax advice, conduct research and review contracts with commercial judgement.
• Experience managing interactions with tax authorities, audits and correspondence.
• Solid understanding of VAT/GST, excise, customs, UAE Corporate Tax and OECD Pillar 2.
• Background in an international, cross‑functional environment, preferably within a multinational or advisory firm.
