Informatics Technical Specialist

About the role

Abbott is seeking an Informatics Technical Specialist to lead the end‑to‑end delivery of AlinIQ Digital Health applications within its Diagnostics division in the UAE. The role combines technical expertise with client‑facing responsibilities, ensuring high‑quality implementation, testing, training and support for healthcare customers.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, implement, test and train users on Abbott Digital applications, focusing on quality and customer satisfaction.
• Analyze user needs, gather requirements and design scalable informatics solutions for clinical diagnostic settings.
• Coordinate with sales, lab managers, project managers, IT, HIS/LIS teams, vendors and senior management across the organization.
• Act as an informatics applications expert for junior staff and promote best practices.
• Maintain the effectiveness of Abbott’s quality system and adhere to the Code of Business Conduct.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree (±16 years) in Computer Science, Information Systems, Medical/Hospital Informatics or a related field.
• 2–3 years of experience in the healthcare diagnostics sector.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities with the capacity to multitask.
• Excellent communication skills and a client‑focused attitude.
