Information Technology Officer

About the role

The Information Technology Officer will support the hotel’s IT infrastructure, ensuring smooth operation of software, hardware and telecommunications systems. This role combines technical troubleshooting with user training and process improvement within a hospitality environment.

Key responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and resolve technical problems related to computer software, systems and peripheral equipment.
• Provide technical guidance and recommendations to address business challenges.
• Enter commands, activate controls and integrate equipment to maintain operational continuity.
• Manage, modify, support and maintain application programs and user accounts.
• Maintain daily records of data communication transactions, problems, remedial actions and installation activities.
• Train users on proper use of hardware, software and Point‑of‑Sale (POS) systems.
• Plan, design, operate and allocate resources for telecommunications activities, including client/server support.
• Consult on administrative policies, technical problems, priorities and methods related to telecommunications.
• Assist management with hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating and motivating staff, acting as a role model for fair‑treatment policies.

Required profile

• Technical, trade or vocational school degree.
• Minimum of 2 years of related IT work experience.
• No supervisory experience required.
• No specific license or certification required.
• Commitment to company policies, asset protection and professional communication.

Required skills

• Troubleshooting of computer software and systems.
• Operation of POS and other peripheral equipment.
• Management of user accounts and application programs.
• Recording and reporting of technical incidents and actions taken.
• Ability to train end‑users on hardware and software usage.
