Inspector – Buses and Maritime Transport Monitoring

About the role

The Inspector will monitor and enforce compliance across bus, school, charter, tourist, international, and maritime transport services. The role involves interacting with the public, preparing reports, and ensuring safety and security standards are met.

Key responsibilities

• Work beyond official hours when required to protect public transport interests.
• Respond politely to public inquiries at various sites and provide accurate information.
• Distribute brochures, maps, and schedules to promote public transport culture.
• Prepare effective reports to improve service quality for the Roads and Transport Authority.
• Inspect charter bus, school transport, international passenger lines, tourist transport, and maritime vessels for regulatory compliance.
• Audit payment methods and cards to verify that users pay prescribed fees, taking action on violations.
• Issue violations and fines to users and operators in accordance with regulations.
• Ensure security and safety requirements are met on all transport modes.
• Maintain custody of inspection supplies and follow daily work schedules from the supervisor.

Required profile

• Ability to interact courteously with the public and provide precise information.
• Capability to prepare clear and effective inspection reports.
• Understanding of transport laws and regulations as issued by relevant authorities.
