Internal Auditor

About the role

Shory, a fast‑growing digital insurance platform, is seeking an Internal Auditor to strengthen its risk‑based audit function. You will evaluate financial, operational and compliance controls, ensuring alignment with UAE regulatory requirements and internal standards.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and execute risk‑based audit plans covering financial, operational, and compliance areas.
• Conduct walkthroughs, interviews, and testing to assess the design and effectiveness of internal controls.
• Document audit procedures, findings, and conclusions in clear working papers.
• Identify control gaps, process inefficiencies, and areas of non‑compliance, and follow up on remediation.
• Perform risk assessments to prioritize audit coverage and evaluate risk management frameworks.
• Ensure audit activities comply with the International Standards for the Professional Practice of Internal Auditing (IPPF) and UAE laws, including Insurance Authority and Central Bank requirements.
• Prepare concise audit reports with findings, root causes, risk ratings, and recommended actions.
• Present audit results to stakeholders and track the status of management action plans.
• Build effective relationships with business unit managers and process owners.
