Junior Construction Estimator

About the role

This entry‑level position offers a rare opportunity for an intellectually sharp, construction‑oriented individual with 0‑2 years of experience in a professional construction environment. You will support senior estimators and project managers while receiving continuous mentoring and hands‑on training.

Key responsibilities

• Read drawings, specifications and RFPs
• Create detailed take‑offs for all trades
• Assist senior estimators in preparing cost estimates and proposals
• Obtain, analyse and track vendor quotes
• Track costs and quantities throughout projects
• Visit project sites with the Project Manager to understand construction methods
• Manage invitations to bid work
• Review communications from architects and general contractors
• Download, organise and analyse electronic plan files
• Identify and document vital project information and discrepancies
• Measure quantities and detail specifications using digital estimating software
• Enter data accurately into Microsoft Excel
• Prepare pre‑proposal documents outlining scope of work

Required profile

• 0‑2 years of experience in a professional construction business
• Strong analytical and numerical abilities
• Willingness to learn and develop estimating expertise
• Ability to work on‑site and collaborate with project teams
