Junior Consultant – Pediatric Surgeon (Government Facility)

About the role

We are looking for a compassionate Junior Consultant – Pediatric Surgeon to join a government healthcare facility in Dubai. The successful candidate will deliver surgical care to infants, children and adolescents, working within a multidisciplinary team to ensure safe, evidence‑based treatment.

Key responsibilities

• Perform pre‑operative assessments and develop surgical treatment plans for pediatric patients.
• Carry out elective and emergency pediatric surgical procedures within the scope of training and clinical privileges.
• Provide postoperative care, monitor for complications and coordinate with anesthesia, intensive care and neonatology teams.
• Interpret diagnostic investigations such as ultrasound, X‑ray, CT and MRI.
• Participate in multidisciplinary meetings, clinical audits and quality‑improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Medical degree with specialization in pediatric surgery.
• Board‑eligible or board‑certified status appropriate for a junior consultant role.
• Ability to work collaboratively with pediatricians, neonatologists, anesthesiologists and nursing staff.
• Strong communication skills for interacting with children, families and the healthcare team.

Required skills

• Proficiency in pediatric surgical techniques.
• Experience with pre‑operative evaluation and postoperative management.
• Knowledge of imaging modalities (ultrasound, X‑ray, CT, MRI) for surgical planning.
