Kitchen Technician

About the role

The Kitchen Technician provides essential maintenance and repair services for hotel kitchen facilities, ensuring guest requests are addressed promptly and equipment operates safely and efficiently. This role requires independent problem‑solving and coordination with other shifts to maintain seamless operations.

Key responsibilities

• Respond to guest repair requests and communicate resolutions with minimal supervision.
• Perform preventive maintenance, cleaning, lubrication, and visual inspections of tools, equipment, and machines.
• Identify, locate, and operate shut‑off valves; carry necessary equipment such as tools and radios.
• Maintain maintenance inventory, requisition parts and supplies, and document daily activities for shift handovers.
• Read and interpret standard blueprints and electrical schematics related to plumbing and HVAC systems.
• Execute complex repairs on mechanical, electrical, plumbing, air‑conditioning, refrigeration, and pool‑heater systems in compliance with company standards and local codes.
• Apply Lockout/Tagout procedures before any maintenance work.
• Train and mentor fellow engineers and perform Engineer on Duty duties, including rounds and readings.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED with a vocational/technical background.
• At least 2 years of hotel engineering or maintenance experience.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Universal Chlorofluorocarbon (CFC) certification and any other applicable state or federal licenses.
• Ability to work independently, follow safety policies, and maintain professional appearance.
