Kubernetes Administrator

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Platform Support Engineer to join a key client engagement in Dubai. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in Kubernetes operations, DevOps practices, and big‑data platforms, and will act as the primary technical liaison with the client.

Key responsibilities

• Diagnose and resolve platform issues to maintain stability and performance.
• Raise, track, and manage tickets for incidents and service requests.
• Engage with client teams, provide updates, and ensure timely resolution of issues.
• Build and manage Docker images, operate Docker Quay registry, and handle Kubernetes components such as network policies, ingress/egress, secrets, and ConfigMaps.
• Deploy and maintain Helm charts across environments.
• Set up and manage Python virtual environments for workload execution.
• Work with big‑data tools including Spark, Airflow, Hive, and HDFS, and manage queue limits.
• Configure DNS entries, proxy settings, and environment variables.
• Manage SSL certificates, Postgres permissions, and overall security posture.
• Administer S3‑compatible object storage (e.g., Dell ECS).
• Develop and maintain GitLab CI/CD pipelines and related workflows.
• Monitor system daemons and ensure service health.

Required profile

• Proven expertise in Kubernetes administration and containerization.
• Strong knowledge of networking concepts, DNS, proxies, and ingress/egress.
• Hands‑on experience with big‑data ecosystems and workload management.
• Familiarity with DevOps pipelines (GitLab) and infrastructure automation.
• Experience managing Python virtual environments and dependencies.
• Knowledge of SSL management, secrets, and configuration management.
• Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, and problem‑solving abilities.
• Strong communication and client‑engagement skills.
