Laboratory Technician – Cementing

About the role

The Laboratory Technician (Cementing) is responsible for performing analytical testing on process streams, sampling, maintenance and HSE related samples using internationally accepted standard methods. The role supports quality assurance for cementing operations by delivering precise and reliable data for research and operational decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct quantitative and qualitative laboratory tests in accordance with established methods.
• Collect plant samples following international standard sampling procedures.
• Enter analytical results into the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) and Business Object reporting software.
• Prepare and standardize chemical reagents for daily laboratory work and on‑line analysers.
• Report instrument faults and apparatus damage to the shift supervisor.
• Monitor sampling schedules to ensure equipment functions properly and results are reliable.
• Perform trial runs on newly installed or repaired laboratory equipment.
• Maintain up‑to‑date inventory records for chemicals, calibration materials, gases and consumables.
• Comply with functional policies, provide on‑the‑job training for UAE nationalisation programmes, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Minimum of 48 months (4 years) experience in laboratory analysis, preferably in oil‑field or cementing environments.
• Familiarity with standard sampling procedures and HSE requirements.
• Ability to work with LIMS and reporting software while maintaining accurate records.
• Strong attention to detail and capability to follow established testing protocols.
