Lead Contracts Engineer

About the role

Worley is seeking a Lead Contracts Engineer to join its Abu Dhabi team. The role will oversee contract and procurement activities across EPC and FEED phases, ensuring alignment with project execution strategy and HSSE objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Champion the project safety culture and ensure compliance with HSSE goals.
• Identify, evaluate and resolve contracting issues during EPC/FEED design and construction.
• Review contract baselines, requirements, division of responsibilities and key management documents.
• Conduct kick‑off meetings and instruct contractors on contract administration procedures, including accounting, change evaluation, notices and payment certification.
• Monitor insurance compliance, assess potential loss/damage incidents and support claim documentation.
• Verify performance and bank guarantees are in place and maintained by contractors.
• Coordinate with legal advisors and manage contract changes, variance notices and amendment processes.
• Oversee contract close‑out activities, final accounts and record‑keeping in the project management system.

Required profile

• Proven leadership in delivering HSSE objectives within large‑scale projects.
• Extensive experience managing EPC and FEED contracts, procurement and related documentation.
• Strong understanding of insurance requirements, performance guarantees and legal aspects of contract administration.
• Ability to balance owner relationships with contractor management requirements.
