Lead Engineer - Civil SS

About the role

Larsen & Toubro is seeking a Lead Engineer – Civil SS to head the design and detailed engineering of substation civil and structural works in Abu Dhabi. The role involves managing multidisciplinary design teams, coordinating with electrical, instrumentation and mechanical disciplines, and ensuring compliance with American and UAE standards.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the complete design and detailing of substation structures, foundations, precast, RCC cast‑in‑situ and steel buildings.
• Review and approve detailed drawings for precast, steel, and RCC structures and equipment foundations.
• Prepare and submit design documents and drawings for client approval, maintaining a Document Control Index.
• Coordinate with design consultants, site teams, SCM, and clients to resolve drawing queries and ensure timely delivery.
• Manage engineering activities within budget, schedule, and quality targets.

Required profile

• 10‑12 years of experience in civil/structural design for substations, power plants, oil & gas, or related heavy‑industry projects.
• Strong knowledge of American codes and UAE local standards.
• Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary design teams and interact with clients and consultants.
• Experience with budget control, document management, and technical coordination.
