Lead Instrumentation & Control Engineer (Offshore Project)

About the role

Lead and manage all Instrumentation & Control (I&C) engineering activities for the IA/PA Upgrade Project on an offshore platform. The role ensures full compliance with ADNOC Offshore standards, seamless integration of new compressor‑package control systems with existing DCS/ESD/F&G/PMS/ECMS, and close coordination across Process, Electrical and Mechanical disciplines.

Key responsibilities

• Review FEED and EPC deliverables (P&IDs, C&E matrices, instrument index, loop diagrams) and finalize instrument sizing, specifications and installation details according to ADNOC standards.
• Develop and validate control narratives and logic for IA/PA compressor operation, including signal mapping, Modbus RTU/TCP and Ethernet communication protocols.
• Lead discipline reviews, approve I&C deliverables, monitor TQs/RFIs and ensure timely submission of design documents.
• Liaise with OEMs and vendors, review datasheets, participate in FAT/IFAT/SAT and verify signal testing and interlocks.
• Participate in HAZOP, HAZID, SIL and PHSER workshops, implement process safety instrumented functions and confirm alarm priorities.
• Support brownfield construction, review instrument installation tie‑ins, prepare method statements and oversee loop‑checking and C&E testing during commissioning.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Instrumentation, Control or Electrical Engineering.
• ADNOC Offshore approval (or eligibility) and at least 15 years of EPC Oil & Gas I&C experience, including 5 years on ADNOC offshore brownfield projects.
• Proven expertise in compressor‑package control and automation integration, vendor/OEM coordination and FAT/SAT activities.
• Strong background in design review, engineering subcontractor management and process safety implementation.

• Excel‑based signal list and I/O management.
• ADNOC PMS/ECMS submission systems, MS Office and MS Project.
