Lead – Security Architect

About the role

The Lead – Security Architect acts as a trusted advisor to the client, ensuring that new initiatives, applications, platforms and technologies are designed and introduced securely. The role provides independent, risk‑based security architecture guidance so business objectives are achieved while staying aligned with client security standards, regulatory obligations and industry best practices.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as the security architecture advisor for new initiatives, major changes, transformation programs and technology procurements.
• Review and assess proposed applications, platforms, infrastructure, cloud services and emerging technologies before implementation.
• Identify architectural risks, control gaps and design weaknesses, and document their business and technical impact.
• Lead security architecture reviews, threat‑modelling workshops and define security guardrails, patterns and reference designs.
• Evaluate third‑party and SaaS solution designs for data residency, tenant isolation, shared‑responsibility boundaries and exit considerations.

Required profile

• Minimum 10 years of experience in cybersecurity, with at least 5 years in security architecture or related roles.
• Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, IT, Engineering or a related discipline; a master’s degree is preferred.
• Working knowledge of UAE cybersecurity and data‑protection obligations relevant to government and healthcare environments.

Required skills

• Enterprise security architecture and risk management.
• Threat modelling and security‑by‑design principles.
• Cloud, on‑premises and hybrid architecture expertise (application, infrastructure, network, data, IAM/PAM).
• Familiarity with frameworks such as ISO/IEC 27001, NIST Cybersecurity Framework, NIST SP 800‑53, CIS Controls, SABSA, TOGAF and OWASP.
