Lead Security Engineer

About the role

As a Lead Security Engineer you will provide software security test and quality‑assurance support to development teams, ensuring that Scrum teams follow Dyson’s software security lifecycle and comply with relevant regulations and standards. You will work within the Software Test & QA department to continuously improve security processes, monitor system health and guide teams across multiple product platforms.

Key responsibilities

• Implement, test, and operate advanced software security techniques in line with the technical reference architecture.
• Conduct ongoing penetration testing and code‑review activities—both automated and manual—to identify and exploit vulnerabilities in IoT consumer products.
• Define pen‑test methodologies using a mix of automated and manual tools.
• Agree on required security levels, review requirements and build corresponding tests.
• Build automated systems for continuous testing and nightly‑build analysis.
• Contribute to the design, development, and integration of offensive cyber‑operations tools.
• Proactively identify security risks and provide engineering designs to mitigate vulnerabilities.
• Work in a SAFe Agile, globally distributed team and advise on secure coding practices.
• Stay current with new tools, best practices and emerging threats.

Required profile

• Proven experience in cyber security, including penetration testing, security posture, cloud security and IoT security assessments.
• Strong background in vulnerability analysis and risk assessment.
• Hands‑on experience with security scanning, attack and assessment tools.
• Ability to discuss high‑level designs with developers and influence secure development practices.
• Persistent, inquisitive and results‑driven attitude.
