Lead Technical Safety Engineer

About the role

KBR is seeking a Lead Technical Safety Engineer to join its Sustainable Technology Solutions team in Abu Dhabi. The role will oversee safety engineering for large‑scale NGL and gas processing projects, ensuring compliance with industry standards and KBR’s safety culture.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the technical safety engineering function for mega FEED and EPC projects exceeding USD 1 billion.
• Develop and review safety concepts, hazard analyses, and safety cases for NGL and gas processing plants.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to integrate safety requirements into detailed designs.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior safety engineers.
• Ensure compliance with local and international safety regulations throughout the project lifecycle.

Required profile

• Minimum 18 years of experience in oil and gas engineering, with a focus on NGL/gas processing.
• Proven track record on large FEED/EPC projects (>$1 billion).
• Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline.
• Strong understanding of safety engineering principles and regulatory frameworks.
