Learning Assistant / Lab Technician – Chemistry

About the role

Jebel Ali School is looking for a dedicated Learning Assistant Lab Technician to support chemistry, biology and physics laboratories for both junior and senior science classes. The role involves preparing lab sessions, ensuring student safety, and responding to any safety incidents.

Key responsibilities

• Set up equipment, chemicals and supplies for chemistry, physics and biology labs under teacher guidance.
• Monitor student safety during lab activities and intervene when necessary.
• Respond to safety emergencies, including the clean‑up of hazardous spills such as mercury, acids and bases.
• Maintain lab inventory and ensure proper storage of chemicals and equipment.
• Assist teachers in delivering practical science lessons.

Required profile

• Vigilant and able to work safely in a laboratory environment.
• Comfortable handling chemicals and laboratory equipment.
• Willingness to follow teacher instructions and school safety protocols.
