Learning Support Assistant – Arabic

About the role

The Learning Support Assistant (Arabic) will work closely with the class teacher and the Head of Inclusion/SENCO to support the academic and personal development of Arabic‑speaking students. This role provides targeted assistance in line with each student’s Individual Education Plan (IEP) and ensures a safe, inclusive learning environment.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver one‑to‑one or small‑group support for named students, following the IEP and pupil passport targets.
• Assist the teacher during lessons, providing feedback on student progress and behaviour.
• Record observations, share concerns and achievements with teachers and supporting professionals.
• Communicate regularly with parents via email and reports on student outcomes.
• Maintain up‑to‑date IEP/pupil passport files, minutes and related documentation.
• Support students’ physical, emotional and social well‑being.
• Participate in staff meetings, professional development days and occasional extracurricular activities.

Required profile

• Commitment to child safeguarding and willingness to undergo background checks.
• Experience or training in supporting students with special educational needs.
• Strong communication skills for interaction with teachers, parents and external professionals.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a school setting.

Required skills

• Understanding of Individual Education Plans (IEP) and pupil passport frameworks.
• Basic record‑keeping and documentation skills.
• Effective written communication for reporting to parents and staff.
