Legal Counsel – Compliance Officer

About the role

The Legal Counsel – Compliance Officer will advise senior management and support the General Counsel in managing legal affairs across the United Arab Emirates, Oman and Saudi Arabia. This role ensures KEO complies with legislative requirements while protecting the firm’s interests in client engagements.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare, review and negotiate corporate and project agreements.
• Assist the General Counsel in monitoring legislative compliance and changes.
• Develop and maintain corporate policies, procedures, systems and processes for governance and compliance.
• Design and deliver training programs to meet regulatory and internal policy requirements.
• Protect the firm in client appointments across Design, Planning, Infrastructure and PM/CM services.
• Communicate contractual risks associated with consultancy and sub‑consultancy agreements.
• Support divisional VPs/MDs with contractual and claims management.
• Advise clients on procurement strategies, consultancy services, construction contracts and claims.
• Provide end‑to‑end claims and dispute resolution services for clients.
• Coordinate with external counsel on arbitration or legal proceedings involving KEO.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of relevant legal experience.
• Bachelor of Law (LL.B) or equivalent; Master’s degree preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to advise senior management on legal and compliance matters.
• Strong understanding of legislation in the UAE, Oman and Saudi Arabia.
