Legal Counsel – Construction Law (Dubai)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Legal Counsel to join our in‑house construction team in Dubai. You will provide comprehensive legal support across construction contracts, labour matters and regulatory compliance, reporting directly to the General Counsel.

Key responsibilities

• Draft, review, negotiate and manage construction‑related agreements, including subcontractor and consultancy contracts.
• Advise on FIDIC contracts and broader construction law issues.
• Handle contract administration, claims, variations and dispute‑resolution processes.
• Manage labour‑related legal matters, employment disputes and ensure compliance with UAE labour regulations.
• Provide legal support on commercial, operational and regulatory matters.
• Coordinate with external law firms and oversee litigation when required.
• Prepare legal reports, risk assessments and recommendations for senior management.

Required profile

• 5–10 years of legal experience, both in private practice and in‑house.
• Strong background in the construction industry.
• Proven experience with FIDIC contracts, subcontractor agreements, claims management and dispute resolution.
• Experience handling labour claims and employment‑related legal matters.
• Excellent contract drafting and negotiation skills.
• Strong understanding of UAE laws and regulations relevant to construction and commercial operations.
• Ability to work independently in a fast‑paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
