Legal Subject Matter Expert – UAE (Freelance)

About the role

DataForce, a division of TransPerfect, is looking for an experienced Legal Subject Matter Expert to support AI‑driven legal projects on a freelance basis. The role is remote, based in the United Arab Emirates, and initially spans three months with the possibility of extension.

Key responsibilities

• Provide expert analysis of UAE commercial, corporate, regulatory and compliance matters.
• Research federal legislation, emirate‑level requirements, regulatory guidance and relevant court decisions.
• Analyze issues related to commercial fraud, corporate misconduct and regulatory investigations.
• Review and annotate commercial agreements, corporate documentation and compliance policies in Arabic and/or English.
• Validate and verify AI‑generated legal responses for jurisdictional accuracy, statutory citations and legal reasoning.
• Draft legal summaries, memoranda, contract clauses and structured compliance analyses.
• Collaborate with AI development teams on prompt design and model evaluation.

Required profile

• Licensed attorney, JD/LL.M. graduate, senior legal researcher or experienced paralegal.
• Minimum three years of UAE legal practice, research, drafting, compliance or advisory experience.
• Strong knowledge of UAE commercial law, corporate compliance, commercial fraud and regulatory matters.
• Bilingual proficiency in Arabic and English is strongly preferred.
• Familiarity with UAE regulatory authorities, DIFC or ADGM frameworks is a plus.
